Bydgoszcz Scientific Society

About us

Bydgoszcz Scientific Society (Bydgoskie Towarzystwo Naukowe – BTN) is a voluntary, non-profit, self-governing association of people engaged in scientific activity. The goal of the Society is to stimulate and cultivate scientific life in Bydgoszcz and in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian region in all fields of knowledge. Alongside the Toruń Scientific Society and the Włocławek Scientific Society, it is one of the three regional scientific associations operating in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship.

The Society supports social initiatives that aspire to raise the level of intellectual and scientific life in the region. In particular, it initiates, supports and develops scientific research, conducts activities popularizing scientific achievements, supports the development of scientific institutions and stimulates the creation and expansion of public universities.

The first statutory General Assembly of the Bydgoszcz Scientific Society was convened on June 7, 1959, and this date is considered the beginning of BTN’s activity.
